Boniface Nguge
Boniface was born 0n 22nd of October 2004. His mother is from a region close to Lake Victoria. When his parents separated, Boniface`s 4 siblings left to go and stay with his grandparents in the north.Only Boniface was left behind with his father. Boniface is taken care of by his aunt, because the father is a drunkard and cannot take care of the child. The aunt took in the boy, because he became homeless and had nothing to eat. It is difficult for aunt to take care of Boniface because she has 7 children; she doesn't have a fixed job. No sign of his mother. Boniface is very interested in studying even though he joined school late.
Caroline Waithera
Carolyne was born on 10th of June 2009. She was born in a poor family with seven kids. Her father died in 2015,but the mother remarried.Carolyne`s mother relies on petty jobs,and so still can`t afford to bring Caroline home.
Catherine Wangari
Catherine is a twin sister to Janet, they were born on 18th of july 2008. The information about the biological father is unclear,but they have a step father who love them great deal. Their mother is HIV+ and is currently on antiretroviral (ARV) drugs. Their mother sells bags of oranges to the passing 'matatu' (bus), earning approximately $2 per day. Due to the stigma associated with those suffering from AIDS and HIV-related conditions, she is regularly refused the opportunity to earn a living wage. she loves them so much and always comes to take them with her during vacatoins. They are some of our youngest students and they jioned the school when it started
Dahera Ibrahim
Dahere was born on 14th of April 2003. She is Golocha`s sister.They used to live in Isiolo: famine, lack of water and the fear of invasion by the Al_shabaab militias. The family lives poor. The parets have five children: two boys and three girls. The family live poor.The father work as a guard far away and has often no money to return to his family.he also suffers from a kidney failure that is a burdene family. The mother is the breadwinner of the family,but works as a labourer and only earn around 200 kenyan shillings.The work is not available everyday.she jioned the institution 2006.
Christopher Muiruri
These fraternal twins are full of life. Christine is very attached to her rock doll.They were born on the 14th of December 2006 in Makuyu.There mother was married, however, her first husband died 20years ago.The family has ten children.There mother sells firewood and earns around 75shillings a day. The twins lives live in a rented single house with their mother,sister and their nephew Leonard that cost around 400 kenyan shillings a month. They never went tto school before becouse of the low income of their mother.When their mother couldn`t get money from selling firewood, they spent hungry.Recently their mother was diagnosed with TB , which make the twins sad. The older sister of them still lives with her in the small, unventilated room in Makuyu and takes care of her mother, even though she herself is chronically ill(kind of epilepsy)

Daniel Mumo
Daniel was born on 14th of June 2007.There parents are separated because there father use to drink and abuse there mother physically.The mother decided to live on there own with the boys and there two older brothers, but often did not have money for food, so they spend hungry.Also because of luck of money they were not able to get soap for washing and taking baths.They used to sleep in one bed together with no blankets.The mother has married again and has had another baby boy.There mother loves her children a great deal, so when the boys are on vacation from school, she comes and pick them up.

Kevin Irungu
Kevin was born on 3rd of March, 2007. His father was murdered when he was one year old and his mother abandoned him and his brother. The grandmother just let us know that his mother also dead as well.she is a widow how takes take of Kelvin,his brother and a mentally disabled uncle.Her small income is from farming.
Leonard Ouko
Leonard was born on 7th of April, 2007. His uncle and aunt are Christopher and Christine. His mother abandoned him and left him with the grandmother(mother of christine and christopher). His mother live in Nairobi.he slept hungry when the grandmother lacks money.he had no decent clothing, and used to share a bed with the twins on the tattered mattress and they used a bedsheet for wormth.

Peter Mbugua
Peter was born on 3rd of January 2006. He lives with his mother and brother in a single rented room. They get their water for drinking and washing from a polluted river near their home.His father dead when he was young, bt his mother got married again. When Peter came to the inistitution, he suffered from jigger fleas on both feet and legs.it`s a kind of parasite that uses the human body as a host to lay eggs inside the skin,especially around feet and arms.it was painful for him and he almost couldn`t walk anymore.After a successful treatment,he is healthyagain,and always with a smile.

Tabitha Nyokabi
Tabitha was born on 7th of August 2007. She has eight siblings and she herself is the sixth child. her parents have low income becouse their jobs are casual, not available everyday.The family was poor and not able to feed them on a consistent basis, no soup to wash themselves and clean cloths.During vacations she visits her family. Peter his brother used to live in the institution, but now he stays at his home again.

Benson
Benson was born on 5th of February 2010 as the youngers of two boys.His parents live near,where they have rented a single room.They work as casual labourers and not able to give the two boys what they need.They brought him to MIE so that he will have enough to eat andgo to school. During vacations he visits his family.
